UNIVERSITY WOMEN'S CLINIC

Mother and Child Ward

Obstetrics Ward

Our ward has 25 beds. You will be accommodated exclusively in single or double rooms with integrated shower / WC.

If you wish to share a room with your partner, we offer family rooms.

A breakfast buffet is available to you daily, the other meals are served in a tray system to your room. Drinks are available throughout the day.

In the course of the morning, our physiotherapy department offers recovery gymnastics every weekday.

Integrated Postpartum Care

To promote the mother-child relationship, full-rooming-in is recommended.

A team of nurses, pediatric nurses and midwives care for the newborn babies together. Trained breastfeeding and lactation consultants support them in the first days of breastfeeding your baby.

In the presence of the mother, the U2 examinations of the newborn babies by the pediatrician and the hearing and metabolism screening take place during the inpatient stay. If medically indicated, ultrasound examinations and cardiac echocardiography of your newborn can be performed.

We are happy to help you find a midwife for aftercare in the home.

Visits

You may receive visits from your partner and siblings/family members at any time. In order to provide you with peace and relaxation after the birth, we recommend the following visiting hours for the other visitors:

Monday-Sunday from 15-18 o'clock

Examinations of Your Newborn (U1 und U2)

The first examination of your newborn is performed directly in the delivery room (u1), the U2 is performed on the third day of life and before discharge. In addition, the newborn baby is screened for congenital metabolic diseases and hearing screening is performed. A pediatrician is of course available around the clock.

The First Baby Photo

Your first baby photo is available free of charge from a professional baby photographer at the mother and child ward. With your consent, the first picture will be published on the Internet baby gallery page of our clinic. The photographer will also be happy to inform you about paid photo series of your baby.

Duration of your Stay

The time of discharge depends on your condition and the condition of your baby. In general, we recommend discharge from the 3rd day, after a caesarean section on the 5th day. At this time, your newborn baby's U2 and metabolic screening have been completed.

Action "Healthy Baby Sleep"

You can ensure that your baby sleeps soundly and with ease, simply by placing your baby in a supine position and in the right environment for sleeping. We will advise you on how to ensure that your newborn baby sleeps healthily and give you a baby sleeping bag when you are discharged.

Your opinion - Quality assurance

After your stay with us we ask you to evaluate us. You will be given an opinion sheet for this purpose. We want you to be satisfied with our work.
