The midwife's job description includes preparation for delivery, the delivery itself and the aftercare of the newborn.

The midwife visits you at home by appointment and monitors the course of the postpartum period (regression of the uterus, healing of any obstetric wounds and breastfeeding). She will also regularly check your baby's well-being, perform umbilical care, check his or her weight and many other things.
